A healthy and fulfilled life, as understood through the different classical traditions of Yoga, requires physical, mental, spiritual well-being. Yet our life habits affect not only ourselves, but also those around us, and ultimately, our planet. A balanced life is one which addresses all of these dimensions of our existence. Specific practices of the different branches of traditional Yoga, as well as the dietary and lifestyle health practices of Ayurvedic medicine, are designed to address these different aspects of our being, to help us achieve physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social health, and create a more peaceful and harmonious world.

II. Dealing with Colds and Flus Naturally

Even when we are fortunate enough to recover quickly from a cold or the flu,most of us have still experienced several days of feeling crummy , having low energy and productivity , and having to cancel plans. When we don’t recover quickly, the misery is extended and the situation can become more medically concerning. In this workshop, we will investigate a series of tools to help us enhance our natural resistance, diminish the severity of symptoms, and enhance recovery time.

Yoga, and what they can mean for Ourselves and Our World; how our diet

lifestyle choices affect the health of the Planet
• Personalised Medicine: Principles of Ayurvedic wellness practices
emphasising healthy diet and lifestyle
• Beginning Hatha Yoga Breath Practices to calm the mind and promote
health, according to season, health condition, and individual
constitution.
• Meditation practices from different traditions of Yoga
• JFS: a gentle, therapeutic Yoga asana series for back problems,
musculo-skeletal, and inflammatory and conditions
• Yoga Nidra, a personalized deep-relaxation practice specifically
designed for healing
• Vedic mantras (prayers) for healing and world peace

Allenspark Meditation Satsang Group
The Allenspark Satsang Meditation Group will meet on designated
Monday mornings 10:30 am-12:00 noon, at the Old Gallery, throughout the summer
beginning Monday June 17. Depending on the desire of the participants,
we will meet either weekly or bimonthly.
Those new to meditation as well as experienced meditators from any
spiritual tradition are invited to attend. The group will be led by
Sarasvati Buhrman, and we will survey the variety of meditation
techniques and theories of practice available in the classical
traditions of Yoga. Meditation teachers from other traditions are
invited to teach as well. Please join us—there is no charge to attend.
